As we headed inland to stay with Adam's Aunt Julie in Ashland we knew we needed to stop and do two things. One, see the Smith River we had heard so many wonderful things about and two, take a bath (it had been a solid 6 days).
We parked at a pull out down a dirt road that ran along the Smith River and rose with the sun. I walked barefoot down to the river along a rocky wooded path just as the birds were stirring. A lot of people told us the water levels of the river were extremely low this year. To our surprise, we had parked between two very small waterfalls that created a dreamy little swimming hole.
Adam came down once the birds started singing that sweet morning bath song and we dove in. What a way to start the day!
