As our trip is winding down, we have found ourselves feeling like it has only begun. It was a fairly easy transition into life on the road, as each week became more and more exciting and comfortable. We set the intention of making December the best month yet, which was a success! We spent more time back in the woods, breaking our budget on a couple dates, and splurging on campgrounds with hot showers.
We thought Anza Borrego would be the last destination before heading back to Santa Barbara...Until we convinced ourselves that we could perhaps squeeze a few more weeks or potentially even another month out of this highway love affair. The decision was left up to a flip of a coin. Heads: do the responsible thing and make our way back to Santa Barbara. Tails: brave the winter in the Rockies and see what Lucille was made of in Montana.
Tails for the win, although we both knew Heads didn't stand a chance. That night the decision was made and we began tracking the weather from the desert up through Salt Lake City and beyond to Montana.
